PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it hard to generate cracks in a package upon jointing the package to a lid by raising the physical strength of the package. SOLUTION: An internal space 12 for retaining a crystal oscillation piece 2 is formed in the package 3 and the internal space 12 is constituted of an oblong rectangular shape in plane view while two stepped parts 321, on which electrode pads 7 connected to the crystal oscillation piece 2 electromechanically are provided so as to be opposed to each other. In the internal space 12 of an oblong rectangular shape in plane view, the two stepped parts 321 are contacted with a side 38 in a short direction and a side 37 of a long direction which is neighbored to the side 38 in the short direction and opposed to each other while a length of two stepped parts 321 contacting with the side 37 of lengthwise direction is set so as to have a length longer than at least a half with respect to the length of the lengthwise side 37.
