PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable heater capable of guarding a fuel tank. SOLUTION: This heater 1 comprises a combustion device 10, the fuel tank 30 disposed at a lower side of the combustion device 10, a frame 40 supporting the fuel tank 30 and the combustion device 10, a pair of wheels 41a, 41b disposed at positions shifted to a front side with respect to a perpendicular H passing through a position of the center of gravity G of the combustion device 10, and a pair of leg portions 42a, 42b disposed at positions shifted to a back side with respect to the perpendicular H. The frame 40 comprises a pair of tank guard parts 44a, 44b projecting to a front side with respect to the fuel tank 30, and a handle part 43 projecting to a back side with respect to the fuel tank 30. Tip parts 44s, 44t of the pair of tank guard parts 44a, 44b are externally kept into contact with the pair of wheels 41a, 41b and projecting to an oblique lower side with respect to a line kept into contact with a corner 30c at a front lower side of the fuel tank 30.
