PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical pulse tester capable of easily grasping the content of an event on an OTDR waveform. SOLUTION: The optical pulse tester displays on a display part 13 loss distribution characteristic of an optical fiber 21 calculated on the basis of the level of reflected and returned light from the optical fiber 21 associated with incidence of an optical pulse on the optical fiber 21 to be tested, as the OTDR waveform. The optical pulse tester includes functions of displaying the OTDR waveform on a main window 13a of the display part 13 and displaying on the main window 13a an independent sub window 13b for each event for explaining the content of the event appearing on the OTDR waveform so that the relationship between the event and the sub window 13b corresponding to the event is recognizable.
