Disclosed is a liquid crystal display panel (50a) comprising a pair of substrates arranged opposite to each other, a liquid crystal layer arranged between the pair of substrates, and a frame-like sealing member (25) for bonding the substrates with each other and hermetically sealing the liquid crystal layer between them. In this liquid crystal display panel (50a), a cavity-forming wall (18ba) is provided on one of the substrates between the liquid crystal layer and the sealing member (25) in such a manner that the upper end of the wall is in close contact with the other substrate so that a hollow region (C) is formed within the panel. The hollow region (C) has such a structure that when a liquid crystal material constituting the liquid crystal layer is excessively sealed in the panel, the liquid crystal material is allowed to partially flow into the hollow region (C) by breaking the cavity-forming wall (18ba). |
