According to the invention, the hollow profile (3) is expanded by means of internal high pressure in a closed combination tool comprising an internal high pressure forming tool element (5) and an injection molding tool element (6) before it is encapsulated, wherein the hollow profile (3) is pressed only locally on the tool engraving (7, 17) in the region of the location to be encapsulated, keeping the outlet (11) of the injection molding channel (10, 23) opening into the tool engraving (7, 17) clear.
