PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a boring unit of a simple structure having a smaller number of components than conventional ones, easy to disassemble or assemble and improving maintainability. SOLUTION: The boring unit 1 is structured such that a hollow ram 13 fixed to a screw supporter having a nut screwed with a ball screw and a spindle 14 move back and forth by the axial rotation of the ball screw in a main housing. The main housing has a second aperture having a spindle motor detachably fitted protrusively on a rear face opposite to an aperture with the hollow ram protruding. The screw supporter includes a coupling for coupling the spindle motor to a rotary shaft provided through the hollow ram for transmitting a rotation output to the spindle, and the spindle motor includes a fitting part for detachably fitting in the coupling.
