PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a semiconductor device capable of more reducing layout area. SOLUTION: The semiconductor device comprises: a substrate SUB having a principal surface S1; a memory element M1 which is disposed to be away from the principal surface S1 of the substrate SUB and stores data, a write current line DL<0>; and a drive transistor DLDTR0 which has a conductive electrode supplying a data write current for writing data to the memory element M1 to the write current line DL<0> and formed on the principal surface S1 of the substrate SUB, and is disposed below the memory element M1.
