METHOD OF FORMING MULTILAYERED COATING FILM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of forming a multilayered coating film capable of obtaining decorative characteristics not inferior to a multilayered coating film including a conventional medium coating film regarding a various coating colors even if omitting formation of a medium coating film. SOLUTION: The method of forming the multilayered coating film includes: the electrodeposition coating process for obtaining a cured electrodeposition coating film by electrodeposition-coating with a cation electrodeposition coating composition to form an electrodeposition coating film and thermally curing the obtained electrodeposition coating film; the process for forming an uncured top base coating film by coating the obtained cured electrodeposition coating film with a top base coating composition; the process for forming an uncured top clear coating film by coating the obtained uncured top base coating film with a clear coating composition; and the heating process for thermally curing simultaneously these uncured top base coating film and uncured top clear coating film, wherein the cation electrodeposition coating composition is a cation electrodeposition coating composition forming a cured electrodeposition coating film having a metric lightness L value of not less than 75.
