<p>The method involves delivering an identification signal (21) e.g. acoustic or electromagnetic signal, which indicates a type of an external sound source (16) e.g. telephone device, from the external sound source. The identification signal is detected by a hearing aid (1). The identification signal is evaluated for identifying the type of the sound source in the hearing aid. An operation mode of the hearing aid is assigned to each type of the sound source. The type of the sound source is identified from a pulse frequency and a pulse width of the identification signal. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a hearing aid with an identification module (2) an identification producing device for an external sound source (3) an arrangement for detecting a type of the sound source, with a hearing aid.</p> |
