A light sheet unit including a nano wire grid and a backlight assembly using the same are provided to increase light use efficiency by using a nano wire grid polarizer. A light sheet unit(205) comprises a nano wire grid polarizer(201) and at least one light sheet(202). The nano wire grid polarizer increases the efficiency of light come from a lamp unit(207). One or more light sheets are arranged in a lower part of the nano wire grid polarizer. The lamp unit is arranged in a lower part of the light sheet unit. The nano wire grid polarizer is comprised of a transparent film(211), nanostructures(213) of a furrow type and a metal layer(215). The nanostructures are formed in one side of the transparent film. The metal layer is formed on the nanostructures.
