A pouch type secondary battery, and a method for preparing the secondary battery are provided to prevent the thermal shrinkage of a separator due to charge/discharge, to inhibit the deformation due to external impact or penetration and to absorb external impact. A pouch type secondary battery(100) comprises an electrolyte assembly(200) capable of being charged and discharged repeatedly at a state of being infiltrated in an electrolyte solution, wherein a powder(400) inert to an electrolyte solution is filled into the space between the electrolyte assembly and a battery case(300) and/or is coated on the outer surface of the electrode assembly. Preferably the powder inert to an electrolyte solution has a particle size of 50 micrometers to 1 mm and is at least one inorganic powder selected from the group consisting of SiO2, TiO2, Al2O3, ZrO2, SnO2, CeO2, MgO, CaO, ZnO, Y2O3, Pb(Zr, Ti)O3 (PZT), Pb_(1-x) La_x Zr_(1-y) Ti_y O3 (PLZT), PB(Mg3Nb2/3)O3-PbTiO3 (PMN-PT), BaTiO3, hafnia (HfO2), SrTiO3 and their mixture. |
