Method for non-photorealistic rendering of an image frame sequence

The invention is related to non-photorealistic rendering (NPR) of images frame sequences. A method for non-photorealistic rendering of an image frame sequence is described, wherein the method comprises abstracting a current image frame temporally by help of an adjacent image frame. Abstracting the image frame in the temporal domain cartoonizes and smoothes the appearance of the image frame sequence resulting in less flickering and less artefacts.
