A method for processing a dual change of a home network server and the home network server therefor are provided to enable a standby server to perform a dual change and notify a router of a MAC address of the standby server immediately, thereby removing a communication disconnection problem. A home network server comprises an active server(200) and a home agent server(40). When an NS(Neighbor Solicitation) message is received from a router(100-1~100-n), the active server transmits an NA message having a MAC address of the active server. The NS message requests an MAC(Media Access Control) address of the home agent server. And the active server supports the operation of the home network of the router. When failure occurs in the active server, the home agent server performs the dual change of the active server. And the home agent server transmits the NA message to the router. A standby server comprises a memory(310), a home agent function unit(320) and a change processing unit(330).
