PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable it to perform a uniform electrification by always generating electric discharge of a fixed amount irrespectively of environment, dispersion of the resistance value of an electrification member during production or the like, without generating the problems, such as degradation of the image carrier, toner melt sticking, and image blurring concerning an image forming device which performs the electrification of an image carrier 1 by an electrification means 2 disposed adjacently to or in contact with the image carrier and applied with voltage. SOLUTION: The image forming device has a voltage applying means S1 for the electrification means 2, a control means 13 to control a voltage value applied to the electrification means, and an electric current value measuring means 14 to measure an alternating current value flowing in the electrification means through the image carrier. During non-image forming, an electric current value when impressing an inter-peak voltage less than 2 times of a staring voltage Vth in at least one or more points to the electrification means and an electric current value when impressing an inter-peak voltage of 2 times or more of Vth in at least two points are measured, and the inter-peak voltage of an alternating voltage applied to the electrification means at the time of the image forming is determined by using the measured alternating current value. |
