THE SUB-HEATING SYSTEM AND THE CONTROL METHOD USING A SURPLUS ELECTRIC ENERGY

An auxiliary heating system and a control method thereof are provided to prevent damage to the power generating and storage units due to the surplus power by exhausting the surplus power. An auxiliary heating system using surplus power comprises: a power generation unit(10); a power storage unit(20) in which the electrical energy generated from the power generation unit is stored; a power exhaust unit(30) including a cooling water path(31) and a heating unit(35) arranged around the cooling water path; a heater core(40) for heating of vehicle room and a radiator(50) for cooling of heating body, which are connected to the power exhaust unit through a cooling water channel(70); and a flow switch valve(60) which let the cooling water discharged from the power exhaust unit selectively circulate in the heater core and the radiator.
