<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical recording medium, which can realize favorable recording and reproduction by laser having the wavelength of 300-500 nm, and a new metal chelate compound. <P>SOLUTION: The optical recording medium is prepared by including a metal chelate compound consisting of a benzoxazole compound and a metal, especially of a compound represented by general formula (1), wherein R<SB>1</SB>-R<SB>8</SB>each represents a group given in specification and X represents a group with an active hydrogen atom, and a metal in a recording layer. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
