METHOD OF PRODUCING BIOFUEL USING SEA ALGAE

Provided is a method for manufacturing biofuels using sea algae as raw materials of biomass in order to solve a supply-demand problem with raw materials and reduce processing costs. A method for manufacturing biofuels using sea algae comprises the following steps of: generating a monosaccharide from sea algae or a polysaccharide extracted from the sea algae in the presence of a hydrolysis catalyst; and fermenting the monosaccharide with microorganisms. The biofuel is selected from the group consisting of C1-C4 alcohols and C2-C4 ketones. The biofuel can be methanol, ethanol, propanol, butanol or acetone. The polysaccharide can be agar, starch, carrageenan, alginic acid, or cellulose.
