MECHANICAL LOCK FOR ROLLING MILL OIL FILM BEARING

A mechanical lock for a rolling mill oil film bearing is provided to improve mounting force by controlling a locking arm between an unlocked position and a locked position. A rolling mill oil film bearing comprises: a tapered sleeve(18) inserted in a mounting position on a tapered neck(10); a piston; a cylinder; a thrust element; an external screw type locking arm; a lock nut assembled in a joining position holding the locking arm. The sleeve is a journal in a bushing(22) fixed within a choke(24) for rotation. The locking arm is controlled between an unlocked position and a locked position.
