A method for driving an electrophoretic display is provided to overcome the limitation of moving speed of electrophoretic particles and improve display speed of the electrophoretic display. A reset voltage is applied to a plurality of pixels. A reset compensation voltage having an opposite polarity to the reset voltage is applied to the plurality of pixels. An image display voltage having a predetermined level necessary for displaying one gray among different grays of at least three pixels is applied to partial pixels among the pixels. A middle gray display voltage having a predetermined level necessary for displaying middle grays of the same pixels is applied to partial pixels among the pixels. A final compensation voltage having a predetermined level necessary for refreshing a plurality of pixels is applied to the plurality of pixels.
