A reverse driving determining method in navigating at a navigation system is provided to inform reverse driving according to determined result accurately by comparing present residual distance with previous residual distance. A reverse driving determining method in navigating at a navigation system comprises: a step(S201) of position-measuring location through GPS at constant times; a step(S203) of comparing previous residual distance with present residual distance according to the position-measured result; a step(S204) which checks whether a reverse driving mark exists or not in case the present residual distance is greater than the previous residual distance; a step of comparing reverse driving count with reverse driving determining reference value; and a step of determining the reverse driving according to the comparison result.
