FIELD: medicine; neurosurgery. ^ SUBSTANCE: ultrasonography of injury area is followed with linear dimensioning proximal fragment neuroma representing unstructured oval mass of slashed echogenicity in the line of longitudinal axis of nerve stem; linear dimensioning pathologically changed distal fragment with fuzzy contours, reduced echogenicity and spindly unstructured; linear dimensioning diastasis between proximal fragment with neuroma on the end and distal fragment with pathological changes on the end. Dimensions of replaceable nerve stem segment are evaluated as total derived measurements. ^ EFFECT: method extends range of facilities used for dimensioning nerve stem segment replaceable after peripheral nerve injury. ^ 5 dwg, 4 ex
