摘要 In a dynamic pressure bearing device (1), an outer peripheral surface (8d) of a bearing sleeve (8) is formed on the radially inside of a first dynamic pressure generation section (B1). The bearing sleeve (8) can be thinned with the first dynamic pressure generation section (B1) achieving a thrust load capacity that is equivalent to that obtainable when a thrust dynamic pressure generation section is provided at an end surface of the bearing sleeve as conventionally practiced. Accordingly, the bearing sleeve (8) can be thinned without sacrificing bearing performance in the thrust direction. The construction enables a reduction in the total amount of lubricating oil sealed in the bearing device. As a result, the capacity of a buffer function is reduced, enabling a seal section (9) to be downsized and in turn the dynamic pressure bearing device (1) to be downsized.
