A semiconductor integrated circuit is provided to reduce current consumption by driving a global input/output line in a block having a selected bank. An up bank block(UP) includes a bank of a first group. A down bank block(DN) includes a bank of a second group. A bank selection control block(200) answers to a first group read control signal, a second group read control signal, and a bank information signal in the up bank block and the down bank block. The bank selection control block provides an up and down bank global even line control signal, an up and down bank global odd line control signal, a write global line control signal for an up and down bank SDRAM(Synchronous Dynamic Random Access Memory). The bank selection control block answers to a DDR(Double Data Rate) signal and a SDR(Single Data Rate) signal. The write global line control signal for the up and down bank SDRAM selectively drives a write global line for SDRAM in the up bank block and the down bank block in response to the SDR signal.
