A portable terminal for transmitting current location information of the lost terminal and recovering method of the portable terminal are provided to recognize the location of the lost terminal due to notifying a user of current location information of the lost terminal. It determines whether the detection signal of the terminal is received(S410). If so, the current position information of the terminal is calculated(S420 ~ S440). A message is generated by using the present position information(S450). It is transmitted to the other terminal in which the generated message is designated in advance(S460).
