An image providing system and a method thereof are provided to minimize channel delay occurring when changing a channel by changing the image information of a main channel requested when changing a channel into the image information of a sub-channel. An IPTV(Internet Protocol TeleVision) sever(200) has plural sub-channels matched with plural main channels, and the image information of each main channel and each sub-channel to an image controlling device(100). The image controlling device receives the image information of the first main channel and the information of the plural sub-channels corresponding to the first main channel, and provides a user with the image information, which is matched with the second channel, among the kinds of the image information of the plural sub-channels. |
