A method for processing tactical information and an apparatus thereof are provided to separate and select analog signals and digital signals inputted/outputted through one unified connector. An input unit(201) inputs information to a tactical information processing apparatus(101). A controller(203) operates and processes the tactical information. A recognition unit(205) automatically recognizes the kind of an external tactical communication device combined through the unified connector(103). A communication unit(207) properly transmits/receives signals correspondingly to the characteristic of the external tactical communication device so that communication with the external tactical communication device and outside can be performed. A display unit(209) displays the information of the tactical information processing apparatus.
