The element has a U-shaped support (1) with a base (2) and a fastening element (34) rising up with an anchor flange (3) in order to fasten an open edge (18') of an upright side (18) of a structural section (8) i.e. ceiling panel. A guard element (4) prevents the open edge of the upright side of the structural section. A fastener (6) attaches the support member to a support structure i.e. wall, where the guard element is pliable, bendable, and/or rotates in relation to the support. The guard element is enabled to switch from one position to another position and vice versa. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing an assembly element.
