An ink for flat, especially offset or direct, printing, without direct use of water, is prepared by adding to the basic ink components, 10-25% (based on the total weight of the mixture) of a colour stabilising agent composed of 8-10% of potassium sodium tartrate, bi-ammonium phosphate, or sodium or potassium phosphate, 90-92% ethylene glycol and less than 1 % of a glycol ether. Asphalt, and emulsifiers, e.g. naphthenic soap, lecithin, or calcium or sodium lignin sulphonate may also be added. An ink according to the invention consists of 45% offset varnish, 7% gloss varnish, 4% reflex blue, 2% conventional printing paste, e.g. magnesium carbonate, 6<SP>%</SP>, drying agent (e.g. cobalt linoleate), 18 % carbon black and 18% of colour stabilising agent (ethylene glycol and potassium sodium tartrate).</p> |
