Disclosed is a fish-based product comprises fish meat, water, a starch premix and phosphate(s), wherein the starch premix consists of potato, tapioca and corn flour starch. A method for manufacturing the fish-based product is also disclosed. The product is substantially solid, not prone to flaking or crumbling while in use and it retains the texture and flavour of unprocessed cooked fish meat. |
