Antimicrobial composition comprising a casein peptide and a divalent cation useful for treating dental caries

The present disclosure relates to an antimicrobial composition comprising a peptide which can be obtained from the milk protein casein or chemically synthesised or produced by recombinant DNA technology and a divalent cation such as Ca2+ or Zn2+. Further disclosed are uses of the composition in the manufacture of a medicament for treating dental caries, periodontal disease, and inhibiting the accumulation of biofilm.
