The device is used in tobacco industry, in particular for avoiding the risk of damaging the rod-like products during transportation. Under the invention, the movement of the elements is forced, and there is a channel the items are moved into under the influence of gravity. The inner dimensions of the passages of the cross sections of the horizontal conveyer and the channel (1) located at an angle allow for identical intensities of the rod-like elements flow. In order to separate the rod-like elements flows, a cylinder-shaped rotary valve (8) is used, the elements from the adjacent area of the horizontal conveyer (3), in which the stack (5) of elements becomes a passive stream, are shifted to the area of the conveyer (3) or the channel (1) where the stack (5) becomes an active stream.
