A digital broadcasting system and a method of processing data in the digital broadcasting system are provided to receive and process mobile service data for data casting to provide a data casting service to a user and receive the mobile service data for the data casting service by a table format. One physical channel is tuned(S501). If an MH signal exists in the turned physical channel(S502), the MH signal is demodulated(S503). FIC segments are collected by a sub frame unit from the demodulated MH signal(S504,S505). A broadcast stream in which a corresponding FIC segment is transmitted is identified(S506). An ensemble identifier, a major channel number, a minor channel number and channel type information are extracted from an FIC body(S507). Only slots corresponding to an ensemble that a user wants to receive are obtained by a time slicing method by using the extracted ensemble information, thereby configuring an ensemble(S508).
