A digital broadcasting system and a method of processing data in the digital broadcasting system are provided to supply robustness against error when transmitting mobile service data. A broadcast signal in which main service data and mobile service are multiplexed is received(S610). Transmission parameter channel information and fast information channel information are obtained. The transmission parameter channel information includes transmission parameter information of the mobile service data. The fast information channel information is decoded(S603). Binding information describing relation between at least one ensemble transmitting the mobile service data and the first virtual channel included in the ensemble is obtained. State information of the first virtual channel is obtained. According to the state information of the first virtual channel and binding information, content data included in the mobile service data is expressed(S643).
