<p>The invention relates to a process for the regeneration of highly acid cation exchange resins contaminated with inorganic iron compounds and/or iron compounds complexed with organic compounds, consisting in treating the resin with a HCl solution having a concentration of 10%, in three successive stages, each of them having a specific charge of 1 volume of solution/volume of resin/h, the HCl solution being maintained in contact with the resin for two hours, when compressed air is introduced 2-3 times/h, for 10 min, followed by the slow washing of the resin with decationized water, for 2 hours, at a specific charge of 3 volumes of water/volume of resin, and a quick washing performed at a specific charge of 15 - 20 volumes of water/volume of resin/h and a water volume of 6 volumes of water/volume of resin.</p> |
