An apparatus and a method for displaying a 3d image by changing a display pixel are provided to change display locations of left and right eyes per a sub pixel unit accordingly as a location of an observer is changed left/right, thereby watching a continuous and natural 3D image without distortion even though the location of the observer is changed. A 3D panel(10) is an LCD filter in which a slit is formed. A transparent band and an opaque band are alternatively arranged in the slit. A left eye image of the 3D image displayed on a display unit(20) is incident on a left eye of an observer. A right eye image is incident on a right eye of the observer. The display unit displays a 3D image according to an image reproducing signal from an image reproducing unit(60). A camera(30) photographs an observer and outputs the photographed data to an observer location detecting unit(40). The observer location detecting unit analyzes the photographed data to detect a location change of the observer and generate an observer location signal for informing the location change.
