A liquid crystal display device and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to protect a non-contact part of a substrate where a self-assembled monolayer pattern is not transferred in a process for forming a metal layer through a quenching process. A self-assembled monolayer(55) made of aromatic nitro based compound is formed on a substrate(51). A mold mask(71) having a consecutive surface and one or more concave parts on the substrate having self-assembled monolayer is provided. An ink solution performing a reduction operation with the self assembled monolayer is coated on the surface between the concave parts and the concave part of the mold mask. A first region(55R1) is formed by selectively printing the ink solution coated on the surface of the mold mask to the self assembled monolayer of the substrate. The metal layer(57) is formed on the first region. |
