<p>The monitoring procedure for the operation of a felting machine (1) with a carrier frame (10) for a fluff stripper, and a felting support with reciprocating needles, uses instantaneous detection of carrier frame deformation to reveal mechanical stresses in the frame, fluff stripper or felting support that warn of malfunctioning components. The deformation is detected by electronic sensors (2, 20, 21) in a plane perpendicular to the carrier frame's lengthwise axis and uses a comparison of algebraic values compared with existing threshold values to determine the degree of deformation and, if necessary, set off an alarm or halt the machine.</p> |
