A digital broadcasting system and a method of processing data in the digital broadcasting system are provided to encapsulate A/V mobile service data and DSM-CC data by an IP packet format according to RTP, UDP and IP, thereby associating and providing the A/V mobile service with corresponding DSM-CC download contents. A channel including a mobile service that a user wants to receive is tuned and demodulated(S701), FIC is parsed and stored from each data group of demodulated mobile service data(S702) and SMT is parsed and stored from each ensemble(S703). It is checked whether an RTP payload type field of the parsed SMT indicates DSM-CC data transfer(S704). When the DSM-CC data transfer is checked, the DSM-CC download contents are extracted and stored from the received DSM-CC data after an attribute of data contents is grasped by parsing a data broadcast descriptor included in SMT(S705). It is checked whether est download time descriptor() is included in a DSI message or DII message of the DSM-CC data(706).
