PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carryable type liquid detecting unit which enables simplification of the work for application of a fluid binder for maintaining detection sensitivity and also enables protection of a vessel contact surface to be an output face of an ultrasonic beam from damage and improvement of the durability, on the occasion, when the unit is attached to the outer surface of the wall part of the vessel so as to measure a liquid (liquid surface position). SOLUTION: A reflector 5 is fitted to the inside of a lid part 4a of a cap body 4. A section wall 4d, projecting inward from the inner peripheral surface and having an insertion hole 4e for inserting an acoustic impedance matching layer 2 through, is formed in the middle in the longitudinal direction of a tubular part 4b. In a state where the cap body 4 is fitted, the clearance D between the back side of the reflector 5 and the vessel contact surface 2a is maintained to be fixed amount by the section wall 4d.
