PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a variable valve system of an internal combustion engine which allows the adjustment of assembly error of each part of the variable valve system in every cylinder with a relatively simple constitution. SOLUTION: The variable valve system 20 has: a camshaft 10 freely rotatably provided in an internal combustion engine comprising a plurality of cylinders; and a power transmission member driven by the camshaft 10 to open/close an intake valve 5, and changes the lift amount of the intake valve 5 by changing a driving range in which the intake valve or exhaust valve side of the power transmission member 45 is driven. The system is also provided with an adjusting mechanism 62 which adjusting the driving position in which the intake or exhaust valve side of the power transmission member 45 is driven during the non-operation of the internal combustion engine.
