PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To favorably perform fail safe activation by properly determining a power supply state in a steering system which drives a power motor, using both a main power supply device and an auxiliary power supply device. SOLUTION: A low fail safe determination voltage Vmfa1 and a warning determination voltage Vmwa1 are set when a sub-power supply voltage Vsub exceeds a reference voltage Vs0, and a high fail safe voltage Vmfa2 and a warning determination voltage Vmwa2 are set when the sub-power source voltage Vsub is lower than the reference voltage Vs0. When a main power supply voltage Vmain becomes lower than the warning determination voltage Vmwa2, a warning command is outputted (S29), and when the main power supply voltage Vmain becomes further lower than the fail safe determination voltage Vmfa, a fail safe command is outputted (S31).
