PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery module which detects an electrolytic solution gas discharged from any one of explosion-proof valves of a plurality of cells by an inexpensive and simple constitution, and takes rapid countermeasures. SOLUTION: The battery module, constituted of the plurality of cells 7 each of which has the explosion-proof valve 8, is equipped with: a discharge part 4 to form a space so as to discharge the electrolytic solution gas discharged by any one of the plurality of the explosion-proof valves 8, outside the battery module; and a detecting part 12 to detect the electrolytic solution gas flowing into the space formed by the discharge part 4.
