PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle upper body structure whose strength is improved, weldability is stabilized, and variations in welding locations are reduced. SOLUTION: In the vehicle upper body structure, a roof 13 forms a rooftop of a cabin 23; each of a roof side rail 14 at left and a roof side rail 15 at right of the roof 13 has each pillar (rear pillar) 34 connected thereto; each pillar joins each end of a roof arch member (roof rear rail) 38; and the intersection of these three joined members joins a roof panel 36. An inner member 121 of the intersection joins first and second legs 125, 126 of a cross-sectional U-shaped reinforcement bracket 118; the upper surface of an upper receiving part 127 of the two-legged reinforcement bracket joins a reinforcement panel (outer member) 64 which is disposed outside the inner member; and the reinforcement panel 64 joins the outer member 33 disposed outside.
