PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of porous powder applicable to an excellent moisture conditioning material or a deodorant, having preferable manufacturing efficiency, aiming at effective recycling of sludge incineration ash, and a manufacturing method of porous powder causing no corrosion in drying equipment used in a drying process when manufacturing the porous powder, and achieving shortening of the drying process time thereby reduction in drying cost. SOLUTION: The manufacturing method of porous powder comprises the processes of: acid treating by bringing the sludge incineration ash into contact with an acid aqueous solution; neutralizing by a powder neutralizing agent; air drying; and drying after the air drying. The air drying process is performed in an atmosphere of normal temperature and normal pressure by standing still the sludge incineration ash after the neutralizing treatment.
