PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital broadcast receiving apparatus that reduces the amount of time for channel switching to realize cozy station-selection by judging a broadcast subjected to scrambling and preventing its channel from being station-selected with a channel-up/down key. SOLUTION: A digital broadcast receiving apparatus 10 includes a determining section 25c for determining, based on information on scramble included in a header of a packet of a channel received thereat, whether or not a broadcast of the channel is subjected to scrambling, and a setting control section 25d for making control of setting such that description about the channel in a channel map is to station-select with a channel-up/down key 11a if it is determined that it is not subjected to scrambling and making control of setting such that description about the channel in a channel map is not to station-select with the channel-up/down key 11a if it is determined that it is subjected to scrambling.
