The invention relates to a dry powder inhaler with a main housing, with a capsule receiver for receiving a capsule containing dry powder, with at least one needle-shaped or blade-shaped opening means which is arranged movably relative to the main housing and which is used to open the capsule, and with a mouthpiece through which the dry powder from an opened capsule can be inhaled, wherein the opening means is secured on the mouthpiece, and the mouthpiece can be moved, relative to the main housing, from a normal position to an opening position in which the capsule is opened. The invention is characterized in that guide means extending parallel to the central longitudinal axis of the mouthpiece are provided on the mouthpiece and on the main housing for the purpose of guiding the mouthpiece from the normal position to the opening position, and in that a sleeve-shaped retainer part, which leads the dry powder from the capsule receiver to the mouthpiece during inhalation and which has a sieve-like structure on its side directed towards the capsule receiver, is arranged on the mouthpiece in such a way that, during movement of the mouthpiece from the normal position to the opening position, the retainer part is first entrained by the mouthpiece until it at least partially engages in the capsule receiver and, in an intermediate position of the mouthpiece, abuts against a limit stop on the housing or capsule receiver, such that, during further movement of the mouthpiece from the intermediate position to the opening position, the mouthpiece moves relative to the retainer part, and the opening means for opening the capsule protrude into the capsule receiver. |
