<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inflator capable of cooling an inflating gas by surely capturing residues, and by quickly discharging the inflating gas. <P>SOLUTION: An inflator 1 has a combustion chamber having an inner case 19 and an outer case 28 and placed inside the inner case 19, a gas discharge opening 16 provided on the outer case 28 side, a gas outlet hole 11 open in the outer peripheral surface of the inner case 19, and a gas guide section for guiding an inflating gas, flowing out of the gas outlet hole 11, to the gas discharge opening 16 side. The gas guide section has a guide wall section 13a placed between the outer case 28 and the inner case 19 and having a guide surface making contact with and guiding the inflating gas. The guide surface has an arc-shaped surface capable of capturing residues and guiding the inflating gas, flowing out of the gas outlet hole 11, to the gas discharge opening 16 side while swirling the inflating gas in a spiral or helical shape. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
