<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a user to recognize an image which is subjected to distortion correction, with high resolution and to reduce a processing time required for the distortion correction. <P>SOLUTION: A part of an area of image data is designated as an area where distortion correction is applied, and processing serving as reverse transformation of the distortion correction is applied to the designated part of the area.
