PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a variable resistor suppressing variation in phase delay without requiring a tuning circuit. SOLUTION: A variable resistor is provided which is formed on a silicon substrate and varies a resistance value between an input terminal and an output terminal, and the variable resistor comprises: a plurality of first resistors R, each having one terminal connected to the input terminal in common; a plurality of second resistors (r), each having a resistance value smaller than that of the first resistors and having one terminal connected to the other terminal of each of the first resistors in common; and a switch section inserted between the input terminal and the output terminal for selecting one of the first resistors and selecting at least one of the second resistors being connected to the other terminal of the selected first resistor.
