PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a reel capable of improving a dimensional accuracy of a hub, and a recording tape cartridge. SOLUTION: The reel 10 is equipped with: a reel hub 32 having a cylinder section 34 formed in the cylindrical shape, for winding the magnetic tape T around the outer periphery; a reinforcing ring 26 which is formed in the cylindrical shape and subjected to insert molding into the cylinder section 34; and a resin made lower flange 38 formed integrally with the reel hub 32 by an injection molding and extended outward in the radial direction from one end side of the axial direction of the cylinder section 34. Between the reel hub 32 and the lower flange 38 in the reel 10, reel grooves 28 becoming to be thinner in the axial direction of the reel hub 32, are continuously or intermittently formed along the peripheral direction of the reel hub 32.
